AI can be quite useful in the world of web design. AI is good at being consistent and repeating tasks perfectly. This aspect of AI can help designers create a uniform look across all platforms. AI can assist web designers with mundane tasks, such as formatting layouts; generating, optimizing, and evaluating layouts, as well as providing feedback and suggestions. AI can run user experience testing by simulating user interactions and conducting automated usability testing; It will analyze user flow, navigation patterns, and user feedback to provide insights on how to enhance the user experience and identify design issues. Overall, AI is a great tool for web design.

The role of web designers in making an online business is to make the website look appealing and eye-catching to visitors. They also strategically design a site that's easy for visitors to navigate. Web designers should be familiar with creating an online business. Experienced web designers know and understand the things that will make a business successful and the things that cause a business to be unsuccessful; They have experience, thus can apply their knowledge accordingly. A website’s design is an important part of an online marketing presence. Market research helps web designers understand the needs, concerns, and motivations of the target audience and use that information to keep them engaged in the online business. Online businesses need an appealing web design to be visible on the Internet and to attract customers. Web designers play a huge role in creating online businesses
When it comes to promoting your business, websites and social media are great tools. Websites help people discover your business, they give you a controllable digital space, establishes credibility, collect data, and overall raise your sales. Social media allows brands to connect with their audiences, build both a brand and reputation, allows brands to share content that can engage prospects, reach new audiences, and promote interaction. Having an online presence is crucial in today's digital age, and both websites and social media platforms play vital roles in achieving this. Brands can create online websites; the website should be visually appealing and have a user-friendly design. Brands can use social media platforms such as Instagram or TikTok, to both engage with audiences and promote their product. Although social media and websites are a great tool, they also have their cons. Cons of social media include having to depend on platform algorithms and changes: One day you might go viral and the next day you barely get any views. Cons of having a website include having to maintain websites financials (most social media apps are free, however, making your own official website has a cost), connecting with the right customer via your website also takes time (not many people go out of their way to search for specific websites and websites don't really connect with the audience). In my opinion, social media is better at promoting brands. This is because they facilitate engagement and make connections with the viewers. In conclusion, websites provide a professional foundation, while social media enables engagement and reach.
Simplify Language:
Using simple language allows readers of all reading levels to be included. Its important that the language used is plain and consistent for those with cognitive disabilities and/or difficulties reading. Plain language means readers understand your writing more quickly; making your site efficient and reliable to use. Choose Simple Gestures: The use of simple gestures, rather than complex ones, will make UI accessible for those with disabilities and also satisfy non-disabled users. Using complex gestures increase the cognitive load, however, simple gestures are easier to remember and feel more natural. Simple gestures eliminate unnecessary visual elements on the screen, making it easier to navigate. Using simple gestures makes the experience more engaging and efficient. All in all, complex gestures are unnecessary and just make things more complicated for both disabled and non-disabled users. Optimize colour contrast: Visual accessibility in a design is very important ; it especially caters to those with visual impairments. Good colour contrast allows all users to see the content. For example, high contrast between text and background color make text easier to read. Bad/low contrast make elements on the screen hard to distinguish from one another and can also cause eye strain. Having good colour contrast is another way for UI to be inclusive and accessible I think the hamburger menu is a good idea. The hamburger menu allows the webpages to be clean, thus users aren't bombarded or overwhelmed with so much information. The hamburger menu also makes user experiences efficient and saves them time; The hamburger menu leads the user right to the information they want, so they don't have search far for what they are looking for. Thirdly, the hamburger menu is universal. Everybody knows what it is, even if they don't know that it’s called a hamburger menu, its universally known as a navigation symbol- this menu provides easy and intuitive navigation. Overall hamburger menus are very helpful for users.
Doughnut Fills! Just as the name suggests, my brand is everything doughnuts and their fillings. The image I have chosen perfectly aligns with my brand's identity and effectively conveys the desired message. The image showcases a box of sugar-coated doughnuts that are filled with a variety of fillings. Pistachio, blueberry, chocolate, vanilla, raspberry, strawberry, and more- you name it, we have it. The focal point of my logo is the piping bag that emphasizes the fact that we fill our doughnuts with delicious fillings. The font that I have chosen for my logo is spacious and thin, which gives off a playful and welcoming feel.
Undoubtedly, your brand is one of the most critical aspects of your business. It's what gives your company identity, it helps customers remember your business and ultimately encourages them to buy your product. Creating a brand is probably more important than selling the actual products. Products can be copied and/or replaced but brands are unique. There are many brands selling products that have the same features and functionality, however, customers are willing to pay more for their favourite brand's product. Thus, proving that you can't just sell a product without the brand. If you're in the business of selling a product, your choices will often be driven by the goal of profits. However, if you're building a brand, your focus should be on serving the customers. It's important to remember that customers know what they want, and it's your job to listen to them. You can't tell customers what they want, they tell you. As a web designer, you must understand the brand details of the company you are designing for. In order to design a website that truly represents the business, it is important to know the target market, values, and overall image of the brand. By understanding the brand, a web designer can ensure that the website's design and content align with the brand's identity and effectively communicate the desired message to the target audience. This can result in a more successful website that effectively engages users and achieves the company's goals.
Examples of the importance of branding:
Digital Citizenship is "the ability to navigate our digital environments in a way that's safe and responsible".
We spend a lot of our time in digital spaces for socializing, communicating, conducting business, getting news and entertainment. We must engage safely, responsibly and respectfully in these spaces. There are many reasons why digital citizenship is important: it helps digital citizens to be respectful when engaging online, it assists citizens in acquiring reliable online sources, it aids citizens in avoiding violating human rights, it assures online safety, teaches responsibility in managing personal information and media consumption, and encourages professionalism & hireability in the workplace. There are many positives but also negatives when it comes to posting online. Some of the positives include finding people who share your common interests/building relationships and community, expressing yourself and your ideas, you can also engage with friends and family from afar. The potential negatives of posting online are lack of privacy (everyone has access to your digital footprint including you teachers and employers who may not find your post appropriate and can get you in some trouble), cyberbullying (when posting online it is important to know that literally, anyone can see what you post including negative people who use technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person; Online threats and mean aggressive, or rude texts, posts, or messages), additionally, it is very possible that a lie will be discovered and you'll be exposed to the inevitable damage to your reputation; One embarrassing photo or video can completely ruin your online reputation or even in real life. |
